COLDWELL BANKER DISTINCTIVE PROPERTIES SELECTS “SOCIAL IMAGE MEDIA GROUP” TO HANDLE REGIONAL AND LOCAL MARKETING EFFORTS
Sun Valley, Idaho, January 11, 2011 – After several months and many candidates, Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties tapped the Colorado marketing firm of Social Image Media Group to run its regional and local marketing efforts. “I am very excited for our company, our agents, and our clients to have the marketing expertise of Angie and her company working for us,” said Todd Conklin, CEO. “With firms in Colorado and Idaho vying for the job, the competition was strong, but Social Image Media Group earned it.”
Social Image Media Group and its owner Angie Robinson specialize in integrating traditional and social media marketing platforms to maximize exposure. Just recently I read an article about family holiday traditions and it got me thinking about some of our own traditions that we had growing up as kids. Growing up in a small town in southern Idaho the holidays were always about family, friends and helping neighbors. Holiday parties all month long, at church, school, local events and my parents work parties. During the holidays we where always surrounded by friends and family which made the holiday even more special. During that time of year it was also a time where we would extend our family and be able to help out those that needed a little extra during that time of year. Even as I left home this has been something that I have always tried to continue to do wherever I might be living that year, which have become some of my favorite memories. Other memories that I always look back on are the Christmas Eve nights at my grandparents, sitting by the fire eating homemade chili and listening to stories of when they were kids and opening gifts that were sent to us by family members afar. Then, getting ready to go to church listening to the chimes playing christmas hymns and walking to church with my family, usually while it was snowing on a cold crisp night and being amazed at how quite and peaceful it was and remembering how blessed I was to be there at that moment.
Living here in Sun Valley I see a lot of these same traditions both from the people who live here and from the people who visit. This time of year for everyone is about friends and family and here in Sun Valley we get the opportunity to include everyone with all the different events that happen through out the season. Many of the people who visit Sun Valley during the holiday season have done so for years. It is great to see the different generations that come back year after year and introduce new generations to the magic that is Sun Valley. I know for me Sun Valley has always been part of our family tradition. Whether coming up to cut our Christmas tree, ice skating on the lodge rink, or to go up to Galena to go cross-country skiing, snow shoeing or hitting the slopes on baldy, there is just a special feeling in the air this time of year that can’t be explained.
We here at Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season. Whether you are coming for the first time or you are a long time return visitor, Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties would love to help you and your family make Sun Valley part of your family tradition for a long time to come.

All of us in Sun Valley are getting excited for the upcoming 2010/2011 winter season. Not only is Sun Valley celebrating their 75th anniversary we have great events happening all winter long:
The backcountry has already received over a foot of snow and the nordic ski trails have been groomed and skiing is great up around Galena Summit, 24 miles north of Ketchum. The Galena lodge is set to open this weekend, November 20th, do not miss out on their great breakfasts and lunches and full service rental shop for nordic skis and snowshoes. Don’t forget Galena Lodge’s Thanksgiving dinner. Galena Lodge is one of the most popular places for Thanksgiving and their Full Moon Dinners beginning November 19 th and 20th and throughout the winter are not to be missed. Reservations are required so please call and book your spot today at 208-726-4010 or at www.galenalodge.com.
In Sun Valley our holiday season is spectacular. We have the Christmas tree lighting in downtown Ketchum and at Sun Valley the first part of December, along with numerous celebrations that happen throughout the valley, from the Christmas Eve celebration in Sun Valley with the Nutcracker on Ice, torch-light parade on Dollar Mountain, fireworks and of course a visit from Santa, all rounds off the holidays.
This winter season, for the first time, the Roundhouse Restaurant on Bald Mountain will be open for dinner. Ride the gondola to the historic restaurant, have dinner by the fire around the original four-sided fireplace and enjoy the views of Sun Valley from on top of the mountain. This will truly be a wonderful Sun Valley experience for everyone. One note though the gondola ride is free to the restaurant in the evening but you’ll need reservations at the restaurant to ride, so call 208-622-2012 to make your reservations or have our concierge service make those reservations for you. Besides the Roundhouse do not miss our amazing restaurants in town. There is something to please everyone, all of our restaurants are locally owned and offer an uniques Ketchum and Sun Valley experience. The sleigh ride to Trail Creek cabin is always a favorite for visitors and locals alike. Cuddle up in your warmest winter gear and be transported back in time for an evening that won’t be forgotten.
After all this, I almost forgot the most important reason to be in Sun Valley in the winter, the skiing of course. Celebrating 75 years, America’s first ski resort has helped grow the sport of skiing over these many years, and continues to do so today. Dollar Mountain‘s new terrain park was a hit when it opened last year and more jumps and rails are planned for this year. But the crown jewel of Sun Valley, Bald mountain, is better than ever with over 3400 vertical feet of terrain and 2,054 skiable acres of slopes Bald Mountain has something for every skill level and every age.
